After 24 teams joined this years PRO Chess League finals we are no left with the final four teams who still remains in the chase for the crown. On Friday the former champions the Armenia Eagles will square of with Canada Chessbrahs in the first semi-finals, while the China Pandas will meet the defending champions Saint Louis Bishops in the second semi-finals. On Saturday the winners will meet in the final, while the two others will play to decide who will take the last podium position.
The Open Fischer Random Tournament will feature 6 rounds of rapid and 12 rounds of blitz. Cash prizes will be the same across both the winner of the open section, as well as the highest placing non-tournament winning gender. Bonus prize: The person(s) leading after the rounds of rapid chess will have the opportunity to play against the Fischer Random World Champion Wesley So.
There will be courses for both beginners and advanced players by well-known chess icons such as Olga Dolzhykova, Sheila Barth Stanford and Simen Agdestein. In addition, there will be lectures by Henrik Carlsen, the father of Magnus Carlsen. ChessParty is first and foremost a major social event. It's a party for everyone, even for friend and family members who might be less enthusiastic about Chess as we are. To make sure they also will enjoy the festival we have lots of other non-chess activities like an arcade, backgammon, football, beach volleyball, table tennis, skating park, boat trips, waterskiing, bathing and much more.
